Activities – Hidden Beach Mexico

Hidden Beach Mexico Activities

Most of the activities center on the main au naturel pool, deck, and beach area. But there are a lot more Hidden Beach Mexico Activities you can choose from.

Call Castaways Travel for your free roundtrip airport transfers for 4 paid nights or more (except the October group).    For a Castaways Travel Counselor, call (281) 465-4960 or 800-470-2020 or send a Manual request, see Reservations

It seems like someone is always coming up with something to do, especially during one of our sponsored group trips. Maybe some water volleyball, or nude body painting, or whatever, or guests and staff can dream up. Often during group events, there are also special themed nights around the pool,  after dinner, or in the Moonlight nightclub.

Or if you choose, you can throw on your clothes and walk next door to El Dorado Seaside Suites for their daily activities and sports which include, bicycles paddle boats, the fitness center, sauna,  Na’Ay Spa, scuba clinics in the pool, a hard surface tennis court, kayaking and more.

For even more fun offsite, choose from various land and water excursions provided by Lomas Travel, the official tour operator for Hidden Beach Mexico. Sightseeing normally includes round-trip transportation from Hidden Beach. Use this link to shop, select, and pre-book your excursions and tours before you arrive.

Diving, Snorkeling & Fishing

Diving is spectacular along the Mayan reef nearby as well as wall diving close to shore. The Great Mayan Reef is the second largest reef system besides the Great Barrier Reef off Australia. A nice benefit is that there has not been a lot of development in that part of the Riviera Maya, so the pressure on the reef system is light. Fishing is also exceptional for deep-sea as well as bill fishing.

Arrange optional dive trips at the water sports shop on-site at El Dorado for an extra charge. If you plan to dive, bring your “C” card. There is no diving in front of the resort as there is a protected part of the Mayan Reef that veers near the shore, right in front of the resort’s property.  Other dive shops are closed.   SCUBA diving is an additional charge. Dive at your own risk. Here are the names and websites if you wish to contact them before your arrival.

NOTE:  This sample list is subject to change.

Aqua World Water Sports shop at the El Dorado for diving in Cozumel (no diving in front of the resort due to the protected reef).

Scuba Caribe Dive Shop on the beach south of El Dorado about a mile…in front of the Palladium Kantenah Resort. Dive sites from 5-15 minutes from shore.

Dive Aventuras:   Dive shops in Puerto Aventuras nearby are about 10 minutes away and will usually pick you up at the resort and drop you off after your dive….but ASK. E-mail them to make reservations – before you arrive. E-mail them again to re-confirm your dive date and time once you arrive at the resort.   Then call them … it’s a local number usually.

Nude Snorkeling (and conventional snorkeling with swimsuits)

Water sports, snorkeling, snorkel equipment, etc. are available at both Hidden Beach and El Dorado Resorts without charge. The best snorkeling is next door at El Dorado…wear your swimsuit. The beach water immediately in front of Hidden Beach is shallow and not suited for shallow snorkeling since it’s partly rocky in spots especially if you’re nude; you’ve got to protect your “equipment.”

There is better water further out from the beach in front of Hidden Beach. Access is better next door at El Dorado. Any activity that includes motorized sports is an extra charge. The resort does not include a motorized snorkel trip.

Off-site, numerous activities are available for an extra charge including snorkeling, diving, swimming with the dolphins, etc., etc. One of the coolest things you can do off-site is to arrange a snorkel trip to a cenote which is typically large, freshwater sinkholes that dot the Yucatan Peninsula. Water is gin clear; many are quite close to the resort and visibility is incredible.

Lomas Travel in the Hidden Beach lobby can arrange a trip. Transportation to the cenotes, gear, and snorkel equipment are typically included in the off-site packages. Rates vary by which cenote you select, distance, transportation, etc.

Weekly Nude Catamaran Cruise – Features below are subject to change

A nude catamaran is “usually” scheduled once or twice weekly at the resort.   Some guests say the nude cruise is one of the highlights of the week at Hidden Beach Resort. The nude cruise experience is usually from 9:30  AM to about 5:30 PM and includes bus transfer to Maroma Beach (45 minutes away), snacks & bar drinks, the nude cruise for several hours, nude snorkeling and a nude beach BBQ with drinks back on land at Maroma Beach, owned by the management of El Dorado/Hidden Beach.

Services may vary and prices can vary but about $85-$120/person is typical (not guaranteed, price and operating schedule subject to change). One of our all-time favorites,  “El Capitan” Pepe (below) loves the Castaways groups….fun, polite, and full of energy and he says “They leave big tips”

Castaway Travel, Nudes Resorts, Hedonism

The fee includes all bar drinks and snacks onboard, all-inclusive BBQ lunch & drinks, shuttle transfers, boat, and crew.  Tips extra…..don’t forget to TIP WELL.

NOTE: Time, price, availability, and schedule of Wednesday’s nude cruise are subject to change, the weather, and wind, and is not guaranteed to operate (it usually does).

Sign up for it when you arrive if it is planned for the week you arrive.  TIP:  Wait until you get there to make sure the event is scheduled for your week.

Make your reservations for the nude cruise at the front desk with the concierge or a Lomas Travel Rep. to visit gorgeous white sand beaches for nude fun and nude snorkeling. The nude cruise also includes bar drinks, soft drinks, snacks, music, sun, fun, and laughter. Plus, you’ll meet many of your fellow guests from Hidden Beach Resort. NOTE: This offer is subject to change without notice.

Optional escorted tours with driver and guide can be arranged at the resort, with transportation that will pick you up at the resort. Deep-sea/bill fishing and diving can be arranged from the hotel, too. Nightclub trips into Cancun, Folklorico Ballet shows, sunset cruises, and much more can be arranged for the Cancun area, too.

You can choose to swim with the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin just off the beach or ride horseback in the nearby jungle. For a real treat, swim with the trained, captive dolphins at Puerto Aventuras nearby which has about 6-7 programs you can sign up for from swimming among them to capturing it all on a personal video.

If you want to see more of the area including Cozumel, head up to Playa del Carmen about 20-30 minutes away, and catch a water taxi to cross the channel to Cozumel. The trip takes about 30-45 minutes, and the service operates hourly from about 6 AM to 11 PM. Water Taxi Rates: $15-$25/person, one way. Service and cost are subject to change without notice.

For a fun nightlife experience in Playa del Carmen at an upscale watering hole and guest hotel, try the action along 5th Avenue, walkable for 10-15 blocks as well as side streets. Start the night at the Blue Parrot or other local beachside bistros and bars… just a great place to hang out. You can’t get lost on the beach or 5th Avenue, arguably the “heart of Playa.”

The fifth avenue runs parallel to the beach so you can’t lose unless you’ve seriously tanked up on tequila. Speaking of tequila, there’s a “tequila” shop and bar on 5th Avenue that boasts hundreds of brands of tequila for sale. Stop in and crawl out!
